"You Have Been Chosen"
2011 Penn-Del District Powwow a Huge Success
June 24-26th

The 2011 District Powwow held at the Penn-Del Royal Ranger Camp on July 24-26th was a huge success.  The addition of the super slick water slide was a big hit and saw a continuous stream of boys going down the slide.  The cage ball competition was also a smashing success.  Other events included archery, BB gun, 22 rifle, and skeet shoot.  The new paint ball course for the ER's was awesome and the boys couldn't get enough.  Many ER's participated in the pentathlon and gutted it out in the 1 + mile run and obstacle course.  The FCF even had an event for all to particpate.  There were also many other activities.  The weather was perfect for the weekend and we had no rain!  Many found the afternoon on Saturday a pefect time to take a dip in the ole swimmin' hole or tube down the creek.  Sixteen took the opportunity to get baptized in water in the Tuscarora Creek.  There was plenty of fun, games and prizes for the Ranger Kids who were shown a great time by our Ranger Kids Coordinator, George Pentz.  A hay ride to the remote parts of the camp and onto our 20 acre island was a highlight for these youngsters.  There was so much fun and laughter going on it was hard to decide what to do next.  The GMAA BBQ was well attended with 128 partaking in the delicious chicken prepared by Dennis Dibert.  Congratulations to OP 284 from Praise Assembly for taking the honors of having the highest attendance of 33 persons attending, while OP 68 from Newport A/G came in with 32 persons attending.

The Powwow was also a profound spiritual time for those that attended.  Our guest speaker, Evangelist Tim Bennett, was excellent and the worship band, The Randy Fisher Band, nothing less than sensational.  Over 60 boys came to the alter Friday evening to give their heart to Jesus.  An additional 10 got saved on Saturday evening and 35 plus boys came to the alter seeking the baptism in the Holy Spirit.  At least 6-8 recieved the baptism.  On Sunday morning, 2 more accepted Jesus as their savior.  God truly blessed our Powwow this year.

Thank you to all that contributed and thank you to all that made this camp a success.
