Junior Leader Training

Equipping the next generation of boys and young men involves preparing them for leadership.  In Royal Rangers the process of preparing boys for leadership and engaging them in leadership roles today is an integral part of what we do.  The process of training junior leaders currently takes place both within the local outpost as well as at the district level.

Local Junior Leader Training

  • Basic DTC - a Discovery Ranger computer-based study of the Patrol System of outpost leadership and its role in the outpost
  • Basic JTC - a study similar to Basic DTC, but for Adventure Rangers

Junior Leaders Training Academy

At the district level, junior leader training takes place in the form of the Junior Leaders Training Academy (JLTA), a program for equipping junior leaders with a variety of outdoor skills, as well as leadership, teamwork, and personal development.  For information concerning the JLTA events available in our district contact our JLTA Coordinator.
