Kisumu, Kenya Campground Project
During the LEAD2013 Conference in Dallas, TX, Royal Rangers national director, Doug Marsh, announced that the 2013-2014 Master’s Toolbox project will be the first-ever Rangers campground in Kisumu, Kenya. National BGMC director, David Boyd, presented a video highlighting the Assemblies of God orphanage in Kisumu that will neighbor the future Rangers campground. The video depicts the incredible need of fatherless and abandoned children.
Consider showing this video and encouraging your Rangers leaders to give to the project through Master’s Toolbox. To order the Where in the World is Buddy Barrel? $30 IN 30 DAYS
Encourage all the outposts in our district to select a specific month to take on the “$30 in 30 Days Challenge.” This is a doable project for every Royal Ranger and leader! The objective is simple. Within one month, or any 30-day period, do something to earn $1 a day for Master’s Toolbox. Boys can take on any chore at home and earn a dollar a day. Think of it! If just 100 Rangers and leaders in our district will take on the “$30 in 30 Days Challenge,” then $3,000 can be generated in just one month for Master’s Toolbox! If you we were to get 300 boys and leaders to take on the challenge, that would result in $9,000 in one month! The bottom line is that our district could make a major impact on Kenya’s homeless children by helping to fund a Rangers campground in Kisumu, Kenya.
Camping Goods for Namibia
There was a pop-up tent that was displayed outside the Hyatt Regency hotel during LEAD. BGMC is trying to ship it and extra camping gear to Namibia. If you want to help with this project, here’s an idea on how to raise some funds. Set your 5-gallon BGMC Buddy Buckets in the foyer of your churches and collect funds. Once your outposts have collected the money, send in it in using the Master’s Toolbox offering form found at http://bgmc.ag.org/toolbox/.
MATCHING FUNDS FOR MASTER’S TOOLBOX
Here’s another idea you can pass along to your outposts. Find church members and even businessmen who will match the funds the Rangers raise for Master’s Toolbox. People like to help young people who are compassionate for a good cause. What better cause than helping orphaned boys in Kisumu, Kenya? The concept of matching funds conveys that Ranger boys are willing to work hard themselves to earn money. The matched dollars can go far in generating dollars for Master’s Toolbox and greatly boost your district missions giving.
