"So God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with
Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. And God looked upon the children
of Israel, and God acknowledged them." Exodus 2:24,25)"Change is in the air"; "if it ain't broke don't fix it" cliches being
tossed around in conversations of late regarding the future of the
Royal Rangers ministry and to what extend will the changes come?
Moderate or mega and are we READY to accept more change for the sake
of the ministry? Don't panic yet!
Dr Stanley M. Horton has some sound advice for ministry leadership.
"Over most of the history of the church there has been too much
dependence on human resources. As long as the funds, equipment,
people, materials, and technical skill are available projects are
pushed with every expectation of success. Yet
manytimes they fail in spite of everything. On the other hand, some
have started with almost nothing but with a tremendous confidence in
God and a dependence on HIS gifts and help of the Holy Spirit, and the
impossible has been done".
"It is a great thing to learn to use the human resources available,
while depending on the Spirit. The gifts of the Spirit are still God's
primary means of building the church" (outpost, section, district)
"both spiritually and numerically. Nothing else can do it".
God will not disappoint us; He has provided the means in the past and
by faith believe that He will continue that work. Keep in mind the end
of the BOOK says we win; in spite of a few rocky roads we will
continue to be victorious; the race is not over yet, the finish line
is now in sight. Press on Commanders.
May your new year be a year of blessing for you and yours. The next
time you sit down to write checks remember our Penn Del Royal Rangers
camp in Honey Grove is counting on you; get that check in the mail
soon, and thank you.

The joy of the Holy Spirit is much more than natural joy. It exists even in the midst of sorrow and disappointment. In fact, it is birthed in suffering. Jesus himself said that divine joy works that way: "You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. A woman giving birth to a child has pain...but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world" (John 16:20-21)
"Joy to the world the Lord has come"; is it not tragic that so many have no time for Him? Even more so at this special time of the year. Let us be careful as to make the mistake of pushing our ministry aside for the glitz and glitter of commercialism. Take the time to enjoy our family
and friends; Gods gift to us. Take the time to visit someone homebound or someone in the hospital. Consider visiting a family of one of the boys in your outpost if just to get acquainted; take the time to show them that the church cares about them. Then experience Gods peace for being a caregiver. The peace the Holy spirit gives is the same kind of peace Jesus promised His disciples: "My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid" (John 14:27).
Let the peace and joy of this season be to you and your loved ones and always give thanks for the many blessings we enjoy in this land of plenty.
