On Friday night, August 7th, at Newport Assembly - Thompsontown campus, Thompsontown, PA, a Camp Council Board meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. All Camp Council board members are requested to attend. At 8:00 p.m., Steve Steffel, our Events Coordinator, will be conducting a review and evaluation of the 2015 District Powwow and planning for the 2016 District Powwow. If you are a part of the planning committee or have been a part of the Powwow planning and implementation in the past, or if you desire to be involved, please plan on attending this very important meeting. Light snacks will be available for all who attend.

Space is available for those that want to stay overnight at the church. The church is located at 10110 William Penn Highway, Thompsontown, PA 17094. To get directions make use of today’s technology and use one of the many map servers available online to locate the church. If you have problems e-mail me.

On Saturday, August 8th, the Summer District Leaders Conference will be held starting at 8:30 a.m. and run until approximately 3:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided for breakfast and lunch will be provided at the church by the District. It is important that all district staff and sectional staff be present. Outpost Coordinators and Group Leaders are also invited and encouraged to attend. We have plenty of important business to discuss and cover.  See the District website for items to be featured at the DLC.

Sectional Commanders, please make every effort to attend the DLC. Your attendance is necessary and important. Plan on giving a brief report of what is happening in your section and give a praise report of some good things that happened last year and what you have planned for this year.

Time will also be allotted for all District Staff members to give a brief report of their area of responsibility and updates on current issues or events. Numerous other items will be covered as well.  Breakaways will also take place for the Divisional Fall Camporee final planning.

Commanders, this meeting is not just for district and sectional staff. All Outpost Coordinators, Group Leaders, Junior Leaders, and young men and boys desiring to make a difference in this ministry are invited and encouraged to attend. Please get the word out and make plans to attend this meeting. The direction for our district, the way the district operates, and what it can do for you and your outpost is determined by your involvement and much needed input. Make it a point to attend this important meeting. If you have something that you want to include on the agenda for discussion please let me know by August 5th. The dress for the meetings will be either Utility uniform, Specialty uniform, or casual (formerly Class ‘C’ staff shirts).
