District Leaders Conference

Sat, February 24, 20188:30 AM - 3:30 PM

To District Staff, Sectional Staff, Outpost Commanders and boys,

On Friday night, February 23, at Bethel Assembly of God – Carlisle, PA, a Camp Council Board meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. All Camp Council board members are requested to attend. At 8:00 p.m., Steve Steffel, our Events Coordinator, will be conducting a planning meeting for the 2018, 50th Anniversary District Powwow. If you are a part of the planning committee, or have been a part of the Powwow planning and implementation in the past, or if you desire to be involved, please plan on attending this very important meeting. We want to make this a spectacular Powwow since it is our Golden Year Powwow. Light snacks will be available for all who attend. Space is available for those that want to stay overnight at the church or there are several motels nearby that you can stay in. The closest one is Sleep Inn Carlisle approximately ½ mile from church for $79. There is also a Fairfield Inn and Suites and a Comfort Suites within a mile of the church. The church is located at 1412 Holly Pike, Carlisle, PA 17015. To get directions make use of today’s technology and use one of the many map servers available online to locate the church. If you have problems e-mail me.

On Saturday, February 24th, the Spring District Leaders Conference will be held starting at 8:30 a.m. and run until approximately 3:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided for breakfast and lunch will be provided at the church by the District. It is important that all district staff and sectional staff be present. Outpost Coordinators and Group Leaders are also invited and encouraged to attend. We will be bringing you the latest news and updates from our recent National LEAD Conference in Springfield as well as cover other brief district business. It’s hard to believe, but the 2018 National FCF Rendezvous is just a little over 5 months away and we will be making plans and discussing the upcoming Rendezvous. Time will also be allotted for all district staff members to give a brief report of their area of responsibility and updates on current issues or events. Numerous other items will be covered as well, including National updates, the upcoming Spring FCF Trace, the District Powwow, as well as other upcoming events and new items, etc. Breakaways will also take place for the Divisional Fall Camporee planning, if necessary.

Commanders, this meeting is not just for district and sectional staff. All Outpost Coordinators, Group Leaders, Junior Leaders, and young men and boys desiring to make a difference in this ministry are invited and encouraged to attend. Please get the word out and make plans to attend this meeting. The direction for our district, the way the district operates, and what it can do for you and your outpost is determined by your involvement and much needed input. Make it a point to attend this important meeting. If you have something that you want to include on the agenda for discussion please let me know by February 21st. The dress for the meetings will be either Utility uniform, Specialty uniform, or casual (formerly Class ‘C’ staff shirts).
