Distribute the Wealth (From the Chairman's Quill)

At our FCF Spring Trace our speaker, Pastor Jack Belin, challenged us to distribute the wealth and to help others who have needs.  Many of us have things just lying around that we don’t use or have duplicate items of.  There are those in our fellowship that do not have what they need to be an active and participating member of the FCF or cannot afford such items.  Young bucks just starting out find it discouraging to not to have the things they need to enhance their experience as an FCF member. Let’s heed Pastor Jack Belin’s challenge and give to others in need those things that we can do without and/or never use.  The key word here is GIVE, which is part of the FCF motto.  We have the Love blanket and the chapter auction and they are both great things.  The Love blanket shows our appreciation for those we care about and gives honor to them.  The auction raises funds for the chapter and for missionaries we support.  However, let’s bring items to give to20others in need with no strings attached and not to sell.  It doesn’t have to be to someone you know or affiliated with your outpost, but someone with a need.  Just look around, they’re everywhere.  If you don’t know or can’t find them just ask your chapter staff and they’ll point you in the right direction.

FCF Members Workday

There is still work to be done at the camp this year and always.  In lieu of scheduling another separate weekend for a workday we are asking FCF members who can come early for the upcoming FCF Fall Trace to do so.  This will kill two birds with one stone and save an extra trip to camp on another weekend. Herman Geesaman will be arriving on Wednesday and we will need help on Thursday and Friday to get items done around the camp.  If you can come a day or two early that would be terrific.  Please bring your own food to make that aspect easier on the camp staff.  The other part of the FCF motto is still “To Serve”.  At the past workdays we have had little participation from the FCF members.  Here is your chance.  At the East Division Fall Camporee our Chairman, Greg “North Arrow” Scott, challenged us when he said “this program and our camp will only be as good as we make it.”  What do you want it to be?  See you there.
