NRA-NMRLA Basic & Instructor Muzzleloading Shooting Course

An NRA-NMLRA Basic & Instructor Muzzleloading Shooting Course will be held April 21 - 23, 2017, at the Penn-Del Royal Ranger Camp Berry.  The course starts early on Friday, April 21st so you may want to arrive Thursday evening, April 20th.  Download the NRA-NMLRA Shooting Course Flier for information.  Registration required prior to April 12th.  Maximum of 20 persons is available for the course.

Short Description: 

This 30-hour course teaches the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching the NRA-NMLRA Basic Muzzleloading Shooting course. This course will cover the NRA-NMLRA Muzzleloading pistol, shotgun, and rifle shooting requirements per the new NRA specifications.

Prerequisite: 

Possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills. Candidates must complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background by passing a pre-course qualification.

Description: 

Course is presented in two parts: basic Instructor training and discipline specific instructor training. Instructor candidates demonstrate organizational and teaching skills by participating in multiple practical exercises during the course, and complete an instructor certification examination. Students will receive the NRA Trainer’s Guide, NRA-NMLRA Muzzleloading Shooting Instructor Candidate Packet, and NRA-NMLRA Basic Muzzleloading Shooting course student packet.

Bring:

Muzzleloading gun(s), required shooting and cleaning equipment. If you have more than one gun, please bring extra for those who may not have a gun. Please notify Branden Krause at time of registration if you do not have a muzzleloading gun or have extra to share.
