Winter Survival Action Camp (WSAC) is for those leaders and boys who wish to learn more about winter camping. Boys must have completed the eighth grade to attend. It is an opportunity to learn the skills necessary to survive in the winter outdoors while enjoying a variety of winter activities. Attendees are taught the fundamentals of cold weather camping and will receive intense training and plenty of hands-on experience in winter camping and winter-related activities. Instruction includes building winter shelters, winter fist aid, cooking in the cold, and appropriate clothing and equipment for the winter outdoors.  Safety precautions and skills are taught in evening ,and some daytime, sessions. Classes and activities include tobogganing, winter shelters, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and avalanche safety. During this time they will have the opportunity to complete the requirements for the silver Winter Camping Merit.

Upcoming Camps

February 1st to February 3rd, 2019 - Camp starts at 6:45 PM on Friday and graduation at 10:30 AM Sunday

Location:  Camp Berry, Honey Grove, PA

Who:  Expedition Rangers (currently in 9th grade or higher - do NOT have to have attended JTC or AJTC), and male Royal Ranger leaders

Cost:  $80 ($70 if from a Chartered Outpost) postmarked by January 12th - camp is limited to the first 20 registrations received with required fee
